Its executive office is in Cincinnati, Ohio, with specialty finance offices in Indianapolis, Indiana; Mason, Ohio; and Lincolnshire, Illinois.[7] Lending is concentrated primarily in states where the bank has centers, while specialty lending extends beyond that footprint.[23]
The company reported approximately 2,199 employees in 2025, located primarily in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois, without a state-by-state employee breakdown. The cited filings do not provide revenue by geographic region.[9] [21][22][7][23][9]
Business segments
First Financial Bancorp. reports one operating segment, which encompasses all of the company’s operations. It does not disclose separate segment-level revenue, income, or asset contributions; accordingly, the sole reportable segment represents the consolidated business rather than a separately quantified business line.[24][25][26]
The company’s business activities include commercial and real-estate lending, consumer financing, deposit and cash-management services, and wealth management. These are described as products, services, or business lines—not as separately reported operating segments—and no percentage contribution by activity is provided.[3] Agile Premium Finance is described as a Bank division that provides commercial loans to finance businesses’ property-and-casualty insurance premiums; it likewise has no separately disclosed segment contribution.[27] [24][25][26][3][27]
Company history
First Financial Bancorp’s banking lineage dates to the opening of First National Bank of Hamilton, Ohio, in 1863. The holding company was incorporated in 1982 and described in its company history as formed in April 1983.[28][29][10] In 2002, First National Bank of Southwestern Ohio and Hebron Deposit Bank merged to form First Financial Bank, N.A.; the bank adopted the First Financial Bank name in 2006.[30][28]
The company expanded into the Columbus market through acquisitions of First Bexley Bank, Insight Bank, and Guernsey Bancorp in 2014.[31] In 2018, it completed its merger with MainSource Financial Group; former MainSource chief executive Archie Brown became First Financial’s president and CEO.[32][33] Subsequent acquisitions extended its services and geographic reach: Bannockburn Global Forex in 2019, Summit Funding Group in 2022, Westfield Bancorp in 2025, and BankFinancial in 2026.[34][35][36][37][38]
