Overview

Credicorp Ltd. is a Peru-based financial-services group operating in banking, microfinance, insurance and pensions, and investment management and advisory. Its businesses include services provided through companies such as BCP, Mibanco, Grupo Pacífico, Prima AFP and Credicorp Capital.[1]

Peru is its core market, with operations and other business presence in Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Panama and the United States.[2][3] Credicorp describes its purpose as “contributing to improving lives by driving the changes that our countries need.” [4]

For the year ended December 31, 2025, Credicorp reported S/28,555 million in consolidated external income and S/267,363 million in total assets.[5] [1]

Products & services

Credicorp’s digital payment offerings include Yape, whose functions include bill payments, QR payments, mobile top-ups, Yape Empresas, remittances, foreign-exchange services and business-to-consumer payment solutions. Bill-payment volume increased 67% in 2025 to 212.6 million transactions. In 2Q26, Yape recorded 364 million revenue-generating transactions; payments accounted for a reported 45% risk-adjusted revenue share, while its credit business had 6.4 million disbursed clients and a 28% risk-adjusted revenue share.[6] Culqi develops and operates an online payment technology platform for digital businesses.[9]

Credicorp’s banking products and services include retail lending and transactional banking for individuals and small businesses, wholesale banking for corporate and middle-market customers, and Treasury asset/liability management, sales and trading, foreign-exchange and derivatives distribution. Its banking operations also include Yape and banking services in Bolivia.[10] Its insurance business contracts and manages general-risk and life insurance and reinsurance, and provides medical and health services. Prima AFP manages individual-capitalization pension accounts, collects mandatory and voluntary contributions, invests pension funds in local and global markets, and provides retirement, disability, survivor and burial benefits.[11][12]

For 2025, reported external-income shares included BCP Stand-alone at 68.4%, Mibanco at 11.6%, Grupo Pacífico at 8.3%, Investment Management & Advisory at 4.9%, BCP Bolivia at 2.4%, Mibanco Colombia at 2.3% and Prima AFP at 1.4%. These are segment-level shares, rather than percentages attributable to individual products.[5] [6]

Geographic presence

Credicorp’s 2025 reporting describes operations in Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Panama, and the United States. Its geographic-income disclosure also attributes amounts to Bermuda and the Cayman Islands; these accounting attributions do not by themselves establish core operating markets.[13][14]

For FY2025, reported total income was S/28,555 million. The geographic table reports Peru S/29,685 million, Colombia S/1,360 million, Bolivia S/735 million, Panama S/404 million, Chile S/234 million, and the United States S/42 million. It also reports Bermuda S/125 million, Cayman Islands S/532 million, and “Others” of –S/4,562 million. These are geographic income attributions rather than a normalized revenue mix; Peru’s amount exceeds consolidated total income because of negative consolidation adjustments reflected in “Others.” [14]

Credicorp reported more than 51,000 employees in 2025; the cited reporting does not provide a country-by-country employee breakdown. Banco de Crédito del Perú’s principal executive office is listed at Calle Centenario 156, La Molina 15026, Lima, Peru.[13][14] [14][13]

Business segments

Credicorp reports four principal lines of business. In FY2025, Universal Banking generated approximately 70.8% of external income (S/20,211 million), Microfinance 13.9% (S/3,971 million), Insurance and Pension Funds 9.7% (S/2,781 million), and Investment Management and Advisory 4.9% (S/1,405 million). The figures are based on total consolidated external income of S/28,555 million; the report separately lists Other segments at 1.6% and eliminations at negative 0.9%. The percentages measure external income, not profit.[5]

Universal Banking comprises BCP’s retail banking, corporate and middle-market banking, and treasury-related activities, as well as BCP Bolivia. Microfinance serves small and micro-business clients through Mibanco in Peru and Colombia. Insurance and Pension Funds includes Grupo Pacífico’s insurance, reinsurance and medical-services businesses, and Prima AFP’s private pension-fund business. Investment Management and Advisory includes Credicorp Capital and ASB; disclosed activities include wealth and asset management and capital markets.[10]

Credicorp’s Q2 2026 presentation provides an alternative breakdown by earnings contribution: Universal Banking 76.3%, Insurance & Pensions 12.2%, Microfinance 8.1%, and Investment Management & Advisory 3.4%. These figures use a different measure and reporting period from FY2025 external-income shares.[16] [5]

Company history

Credicorp Ltd. was formed in 1995 as a Bermuda holding company through a share exchange combining interests in Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP), Pacífico-Peruano Suiza and Atlantic Security Holding Corporation; its shares began trading on the New York Stock Exchange that year. BCP, a predecessor institution to Credicorp, traces its origins to Banco Italiano, established in 1889.[17][18] In January 1997, Credicorp expanded into Colombia by acquiring 99.99% of Banco Tequendama.[19]

In 2012, BCP acquired majority stakes in Colombia’s Correval and Chile’s IM Trust as part of a regional investment-banking expansion.[20][21] Credicorp expanded in microfinance in 2014 through the acquisition of a stake in Mibanco; Mibanco and Edyficar were merged in 2015.[22][23] In 2020, Gianfranco Ferrari was appointed CEO, succeeding Walter Bayly.[24] [17]
