Company history

Corteva emerged from the combination of Dow and DuPont’s agricultural businesses. The companies completed their merger to form DowDuPont on August 31, 2017, bringing their agriculture operations under one parent. Corteva’s heritage includes DuPont Pioneer and DuPont Crop Protection.[16][17]

DowDuPont completed the separation of Corteva on June 1, 2019, establishing it as an independent public company; its shares began regular-way trading under the symbol CTVA on June 3. Jim Collins, who had led DowDuPont’s Agriculture Division, was Corteva’s first chief executive. Chuck Magro succeeded him as CEO in November 2021. In March 2023, Corteva acquired Stoller Group and Symborg, expanding its biologicals business.[18] [16]
