Products & services
ConvaTec’s products span Advanced Wound Care, Ostomy Care, Continence Care and Infusion Care. Advanced Wound Care includes dressings for acute and chronic wounds, including wounds related to diabetes, traumatic injury and burns [7]. Its named products include AQUACEL™ Hydrofiber dressings, ConvaFoam™, ConvaFiber™, ConvaNiox™ and InnovaMatrix® [2]. AQUACEL Hydrofiber absorbs wound fluid and forms a cohesive gel [8]. ConvaFiber combines CMC and lyocell reinforcing fibers in a Hydrofiber structure; ConvaFoam incorporates a Hydrofiber layer designed to conform to the wound and retain exudate [9][10]. ConvaNiox is a multilayer dressing that generates nitric oxide and is designed to absorb wound fluid and non-viable tissue and address biofilm [11].
In Ostomy Care, Esteem Body™ is a one-piece pouching system with soft-convex options and multiple pouch styles, while Natura® is a two-piece system in which the pouch attaches to a skin barrier by a coupling ring [12][13]. Continence Care includes GentleCath Air™ for Women, a compact intermittent hydrophilic catheter with FeelClean™ Technology, a long funnel and attachable AirCase™ cap [14]. Infusion Care includes Neria™ Guard, an all-in-one infusion set with an integrated inserter, soft cannula and automatically retracting needle, as well as diabetes infusion sets such as Mio™ Advance and Neria™ [15][16]. The me+™ programs offer ostomy and continence users education and product-support resources [17][18].
For FY2025, revenue by category was Advanced Wound Care $753 million (about 30.9% of group revenue), Ostomy Care $676 million (27.7%), Continence Care $537 million (22.0%) and Infusion Care $473 million (19.4%), against total group revenue of $2,439 million [19]. The FY2025 annual report does not provide revenue by country or region; its disclosed revenue breakdown is by product category.[5][25] [5][20][21][22][23][24][25][20][21][22][23][24][25]
Business segments
Convatec’s latest complete full-year business-category breakdown is FY2025: Advanced Wound Care (AWC) generated $753 million (approximately 30.9% of revenue), Ostomy Care $676 million (27.7%), Continence Care $537 million (22.0%), and Infusion Care $473 million (19.4%), out of total revenue of $2.439 billion. AWC includes $69 million of InnovaMatrix revenue; excluding InnovaMatrix, AWC revenue was $684 million. Shares are calculated from reported category revenue and total revenue.[26][5]
AWC focuses on advanced wound dressings for acute and chronic wounds; reported examples include Aquacel, ConvaFoam, ConvaFiber and ConvaNiox. The other categories cover ostomy-care, continence-care and infusion-care products, with examples including Esteem Body and Natura Body, GentleCath Air products, and Neria Guard, respectively.[27][2] Convatec also reports revenue by geography—FY2025 revenue was approximately 55.7% North America, 29.6% Europe and 14.7% Rest of World—which is an alternative geographic view, not an additional business-category split.[28] H1 2026 reporting includes a category growth bridge rather than a complete category revenue breakdown, so FY2025 is the latest full-year basis for the contribution estimates above.[29] [26][5][27][2][28][29]
Company history
ConvaTec traces its origins to research conducted by E.R. Squibb & Sons in the 1960s and was established in 1978 as a Squibb division. Its first product was the Stomahesive skin barrier.[21] In 1996, the company launched AQUACEL, based on its Hydrofiber wound-dressing technology.[30]
In 2008, Bristol Myers Squibb completed the sale of ConvaTec to Nordic Capital and Avista Capital Partners; that year, ConvaTec combined with Denmark-based Unomedical, broadening its product portfolio.[31] In 2012, it acquired 180 Medical, a US provider of intermittent catheters and home-delivery services.[32] ConvaTec listed on the London Stock Exchange in October 2016.[33] In 2022, its acquisition of Triad Life Sciences marked its entry into wound biologics.[34] [21][30][31][32][33][34]
