Overview
Camtek Ltd. is an Israeli semiconductor equipment company that develops and manufactures automated wafer inspection and metrology systems. Its equipment supports semiconductor production and advanced packaging, including applications such as chiplets, high-bandwidth memory, image sensors, power devices and MEMS. The company’s stated purpose is to help improve production processes, yield and product reliability and enable customers’ technology development.[1][2]
Headquartered in Migdal Ha’Emek, Israel, Camtek serves customers globally and has operations across Asia Pacific, North America and Europe. Asia Pacific accounted for about 91% of its 2025 revenue. Camtek reported $496.1 million in revenue for FY2025 and lists 725 employees and eight offices worldwide on its careers page.[3][4][5][6] [1][2][3][4][5][6]
Products & services
Camtek’s product portfolio comprises optical inspection and metrology systems for semiconductor wafers and advanced packaging. Hawk is designed for advanced packaging applications including chiplets, high-bandwidth memory and hybrid bonding; reported capabilities include detecting defects down to 150 nm and measuring 500 million micro-bumps at pitches below 12 μm.[7] Eagle G5 targets applications such as multi-RDL, fan-out wafer-level packaging, 2.5D packaging and CMOS image sensors, with optimized optics and throughput.[8] Eagle T-i provides 2D inspection and metrology, while Eagle T-AP combines 2D and 3D inspection and metrology for advanced packaging, including measurement of copper pillars, micro-bumps and other bumps.[9][10]
Other products include FRT MicroProf AP, an automated wafer-metrology system for processes such as through-silicon vias, thinning, bonding and stacking, and Golden Eagle, a panel inspection and metrology system principally designed for fan-out panel-level packaging.[11][12] Camtek’s systems use optical scanning, image capture and algorithmic processing to identify defects, and can provide inspection reports to factory information systems.[13][14] Services include warranty coverage, fee-based maintenance and service contracts, and local on-site support.[15][16] For FY2025, the company reported that approximately 50% of revenue was from AI-related products and 20% from other advanced-packaging applications; this is an application mix, not a breakdown by product model.[17] [13][14][15][16][17][7][8][9][10][11][12]
Geographic presence
Camtek’s principal operating base is in northern Israel, where its headquarters and main facility are located; the facility is the sole manufacturing and integration site for most product lines. The company also had 30 R&D employees at facilities in Germany at year-end 2025, compared with 163 at its Israel headquarters.[18][19]
Sales are concentrated in Asia-Pacific, principally China, Taiwan, and South Korea: the region accounted for approximately 91% of 2025 revenue, with China alone accounting for 49%. Camtek’s customers are located across Asia, Europe, and North America.[4][20] Official contact information lists additional locations in Germany, the United States, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore.[21][22][23][24] [18][19][4][20][21][22][23][24]
Business segments
Camtek reports one operating and reportable segment; it does not disclose separate product or application segments or revenue shares for them. Its business focuses on semiconductor wafer inspection and metrology systems.[25][26][27][28][29][1]
Within that single segment, Camtek identifies applications including advanced packaging, chiplets, high-bandwidth memory (HBM), compound semiconductors, memory, CMOS image sensors, power, RF and MEMS. Its tools support inspection and metrology of features such as bumps, hybrid bonding, die-stack planarity and redistribution layers.[1][30][31][32][33]
Camtek estimates that products supporting AI applications—including HBM and advanced packaging—accounted for approximately 50% of revenue. This is an application exposure estimate, not a separately reported segment contribution; no other application-level percentages are disclosed.[34][25] [25][26][27][28][29][1][30][31][32][33][34]
Company history
Camtek was incorporated in Israel in 1987; Rafi Amit is identified as a company founder. Its early business was manual optical-inspection equipment for printed circuit boards. In September 2001, it acquired a developer and producer of automated optical-inspection systems for semiconductor fabrication, entering back-end semiconductor inspection. It shipped its first Falcon semiconductor system in late 2003 and recognized its first revenue from the system in the second quarter of 2004; subsequent inspection and metrology systems included Condor, Gannet and Eagle.[3][35][36]
Amit served as CEO from 1998 to 2010 and returned to the role in 2014. In 2017, Camtek sold its PCB business, completing its shift toward a semiconductor-focused inspection and metrology company. It acquired German metrology supplier FRT in November 2023. Camtek introduced its fifth-generation Eagle G5 system in 2024 and launched the Hawk inspection system in 2025.[35][37][38][39][40][41]
