Products & services

Brookfield Wealth Solutions offers retail fixed-index and fixed-rate deferred annuities, including annual-reset products, multi-year guaranteed annuities (MYGAs) and single-premium deferred annuities (SPDAs). Fixed-index annuities credit interest linked to an index while protecting account value from index losses; crediting may be subject to caps or participation rates, and some products include an initial premium bonus. Single-premium immediate annuities convert a lump-sum premium into periodic payments that can continue for life.[7]+2 Its institutional annuities include pension risk-transfer group annuities, which transfer pension investment and longevity risks, and funding agreements issued directly to institutions or through funding agreement-backed notes (FABN) trusts.[10]+2

Life insurance offerings include whole life, with a guaranteed death benefit and fixed premiums; participating policies may pay dividends that can be taken in cash, used to increase benefits or cash value, or applied to premiums. Universal life offers flexible premiums and coverage with interest crediting subject to policy minimums; equity-indexed versions link some crediting to an index subject to a floor. Variable universal life uses separate-account investments, with investment risk borne by the policyholder.[13]+2

Property and casualty products include homeowners and renters coverage, commercial property insurance, specialty casualty, construction-defect, general-liability, commercial multi-peril, workers’ compensation, product, environmental and auto liability coverage. P&C generated US$2.861 billion (about 24.5%) and includes property, casualty, specialty, and other coverage. Company history

Brookfield Asset Management established the Bermuda company on 10 December 2020 as part of a carve-out of its reinsurance business. On 28 June 2021, it was spun off to Brookfield Asset Management shareholders under the name Brookfield Asset Management Reinsurance Partners Ltd.[28][29]

The company announced its acquisition of American National in August 2021 and completed the $5.1 billion transaction on 25 May 2022, adding life, annuity, health and property-and-casualty insurance businesses.[30]+2 It changed its name to Brookfield Reinsurance Ltd. in December 2022.[33]

In 2023, the company agreed to acquire specialty insurer Argo Group, completing the $1.1 billion acquisition in November.[34]+2 It also agreed to acquire American Equity Investment Life Holding Company in July 2023; that acquisition was completed in May 2024.[34][37] In September 2024, it adopted its current name, Brookfield Wealth Solutions Ltd., and changed its NYSE and TSX ticker from BNRE to BNT.[38] [28]+14
