Overview
Brookfield Infrastructure Corporation (BIPC) is Brookfield Infrastructure’s Canadian corporate investment vehicle, providing exposure to the wider infrastructure platform alongside Brookfield Infrastructure Partners. BIPC’s reported operations include regulated electricity distribution in the U.K., regulated gas transmission in Brazil and intermodal logistics worldwide; the broader platform also invests in utilities, transport, midstream and data infrastructure across the Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe [1][2][3].
Brookfield Infrastructure describes its purpose as owning and operating essential infrastructure assets that support the global economy [4]. The platform reports approximately 57,000 operating employees, a platform-wide figure rather than a BIPC-only count; its intermodal logistics business operates in 40 countries, with 21 local offices and more than 450 third-party depots [5][6]. BIPC’s latest annual report located covers the year ended December 31, 2025; a distinct BIPC revenue figure is not included here because the available headline scale indicators describe the broader platform rather than BIPC alone [7]. Products & services
Brookfield Infrastructure Corporation’s U.K. business provides regulated connection services to homes across seven product lines: natural gas, electricity, fiber, water, wastewater, district heating and cooling. It constructs, owns and operates the connections, and is developing alternative technologies to support the transition from gas. Connection rates generally follow the interconnected utility’s tariff and are typically adjusted annually for inflation; gas connection rates are subject to a regulatory cap and floor, and revenue does not vary materially with volumes transported.[8]
In Brazil, the company provides natural-gas transportation through a pipeline network of more than 2,000 km across Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Minas Gerais. At year-end 2025, the network had capacity of 158 million cubic meters, fully contracted under long-term, inflation-adjusted ship-or-pay agreements. One agreement transitioned to a regulatory asset base regime in January 2026, with tariffs reset every five years; the four remaining agreements had an average remaining term of five years.[9] The network serves southeast Brazil, which accounts for approximately 50% of national gas demand.[10]
The company also leases, re-leases and sells intermodal containers and chassis. Its fleet comprised four million containers, or 7.4 million TEUs; leasing provides shipping lines with operating and fleet-size and mix flexibility, as well as an alternative financing source. Services are delivered through 21 local offices and more than 450 third-party depots in 40 countries. Its primary customers collectively represent 85% of global shipping capacity.[11][6]
The 2025 annual report describes one reportable and operating segment rather than disclosing revenue by product or service line; it states that virtually all revenue is supported by regulation or long-term contracts. Product-specific revenue percentages are not disclosed.[12][13] [8][9][10][11][6][12][13]
Geographic presence
Brookfield Infrastructure Corporation’s 2025 reporting describes operations in the United Kingdom, Brazil, and global intermodal logistics. For 2025, the reported revenue subtotal for those operations was $3.668 billion: Brazil generated $1.430 billion (39.0%), the U.K. $864 million (23.6%), and global intermodal logistics $1.374 billion (37.5%). The percentages are calculated against that subtotal; the intermodal figure is a global business category, not a single-country market.[1][14] Its listed principal executive office is at 250 Vesey Street, 15th Floor, New York, New York 10281, United States.[15][16][17] [1][14][14][14][15][16][17]
Business segments
Brookfield Infrastructure Corp. reports **one operating and reportable segment** under IFRS 8, rather than four separately reported segments. Its disclosed operations include U.K. regulated gas and electricity businesses, Brazilian regulated gas transmission, and global intermodal logistics.[12][18] The broader Brookfield Infrastructure platform groups its activities into four sectors: **Utilities** (regulated utility networks), **Transport** (including rail, toll roads and terminals), **Midstream** (energy transportation, storage and processing), and **Data** (data transmission and storage). These are platform sector categories, not four BIPC reportable segments.[3] The platform describes operations across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific.[2][19]
For the platform’s 2025 FFO, the four sectors contributed approximately **Utilities 25.4%** ($786 million), **Transport 36.9%** ($1,144 million), **Midstream 21.5%** ($668 million), and **Data 16.2%** ($502 million). These percentages use the four sectors’ combined $3.1 billion of FFO as the denominator; the reported $473 million of corporate costs is deducted separately, resulting in total FFO of $2.627 billion. The figures therefore indicate the platform’s operating-sector mix, not standalone BIPC segment contributions.[20] [12][18][2][19][3][20]
Company history
Brookfield Infrastructure Corporation (BIPC) was established on August 30, 2019, as a corporate vehicle for Brookfield Infrastructure. In March 2020, Brookfield Infrastructure Partners contributed regulated utility businesses in Brazil and the United Kingdom to BIPC, then completed BIPC’s creation through a special share distribution to its unitholders. BIPC began trading on the New York and Toronto stock exchanges at the end of that month.[21][22]
In 2021, Brookfield Infrastructure completed its acquisition of Inter Pipeline, a major expansion of the wider platform’s Canadian energy-infrastructure operations.[23] In December 2024, a corporate reorganization took effect: the former BIPC was renamed Brookfield Infrastructure Holdings Corporation, while the reorganized listed company retained the Brookfield Infrastructure Corporation name.[24][25]
In 2025, Brookfield Infrastructure announced and completed the acquisition of Colonial Enterprises, which owns Colonial Pipeline. The transaction was a milestone for the wider Brookfield Infrastructure platform; it is not described here as a direct acquisition by BIPC itself.[26][27] [24][21][22][23][25][26][27]
