Business segments

BD’s FY2026 reporting reflects a reorganization effective October 1, 2025. After the February 2026 separation of Biosciences and Diagnostic Solutions, its four continuing reportable segments are Medical Essentials, Connected Care, BioPharma Systems, and Interventional.[3][30] In BD’s organizational mapping, Medical Essentials covers Medication Delivery Solutions and Specimen Management; Connected Care covers Medication Management Solutions and Advanced Patient Monitoring; BioPharma Systems includes BioPharma Systems, formerly Pharmaceutical Systems; and Interventional includes Peripheral Intervention, Urology and Critical Care, and Surgery.[31]

For the nine months ended June 30, 2026, the segments contributed approximately 34.7% of continuing-operations revenue for Medical Essentials ($4.918 billion), 24.5% for Connected Care ($3.475 billion), 11.9% for BioPharma Systems ($1.689 billion), and 28.9% for Interventional ($4.101 billion), calculated against total continuing-operations revenue of $14.183 billion. These are FY2026 year-to-date shares, not full-year figures.[32][33] BD’s FY2025 annual segment figures use its former three-segment structure, so they are not directly comparable with this current breakdown.[34] [3]
