Overview
The supplied Finbar organisation ID corresponds to Banca Generali S.p.A.; I could not verify “BCA Generali” as the name of that company or as a BCA–Generali entity. Banca Generali is an Italian private bank focused on wealth management and financial advice, including investment, banking and insurance-related solutions [1][2]. Its stated purpose is to help clients build and care for their life projects [3].
The group is primarily based in Italy, with operations including fund management in Luxembourg and private banking in Switzerland [4]. It reported total banking income of €606.8 million for the first half of 2026 and total assets of €121.1 billion as of 30 June 2026 [5]. The company reports 1,113 employees and 2,405 private bankers at year-end 2025 [6][2]. [7][1][2][3][4][5][6]
Products & services
Banca Generali’s offering centers on investment and wealth-planning services for private and affluent clients. Clients can access more than 5,200 financial instruments from over 50 international management companies, alongside advice on pensions, corporate finance, real estate and art, protection planning, and generational wealth transfer.[2][8]
Named products include BG Stile Esclusivo, a hybrid insurance-investment policy launched in 2025 that combines investment and protection and is intended for capital consolidation and long-term portfolio diversification.[9] Retail banking accounts introduced in March 2025 include BG Più, BG Multivaluta and BG TOP; non-resident versions are also available for BG Più and BG Multivaluta.[10] [9][10][2][8]
Geographic presence
Banca Generali’s client-facing advisory and private-banking network is concentrated in Italy. The company describes its services as operating throughout the country and lists 52 branches and 180 offices.[11][2]
The 2025 group reporting lists parent-company offices in Trieste and Milan, BG (Suisse) Private Bank and BG Aequitum in Lugano, Switzerland, and BG Fund Management Luxembourg in Luxembourg.[12] The company describes BG International as serving clients who are tax-resident in Italy and hold assets in Switzerland.[13]
The available reporting does not provide revenue by country or region, or employee counts by location. The Group reported 1,113 employees at 31 December 2025, without a geographic breakdown in the cited disclosure.[14][6] [12][14][11][2][13][6]
Business segments
Banca Generali reports Private Banking (PB), Senior Partner (SP) and Corporate Center in its segment results. PB includes assets attributed to the other financial-adviser networks—including Private Bankers, Wealth Managers and Financial Planners—as well as the Relationship Manager Network and its clients, and assets held in Switzerland. SP is defined by adviser scale: assets managed by financial advisers above €150 million, or teams above €350 million.[15][16] In FY2025, net banking income was €685.2 million for PB (about 68.5% of the Group total), €85.0 million for SP (8.5%) and €230.1 million for Corporate Center (23.0%). Corporate Center is reported separately from the client-facing adviser networks; its allocation includes interest attributed through the Group’s liquidity-transfer-pricing framework.[17][18]
As a separate, more recent view—not an operating-segment breakdown—the 1Q26 presentation divides client assets by type: AUC 23%, traditional life policies 14%, financial wrappers 12%, and in-house funds, third-party funds, insurance wrappers and deposits each 11%; AUC and banking under advisory account for 7%.[19] [15][16][17][18][19]
Company history
Banca Generali traces its origins to Generali’s 1997 acquisition of a majority stake in Cassa di Risparmio di Trieste Specialcredito; it began operating on 1 December 1998. In 2000, its merger with Prime formed a multi-channel bank, followed by acquisitions including Altinia SIM and INA SIM.[20]
The bank expanded its distribution and wealth-management activities through the acquisition of Banca Primavera’s network in 2003 and Intesa Fiduciaria SIM in 2005. It listed on the Milan stock exchange in 2006 and later added businesses including BG SGR, Banca BSI Italia and Banca del Gottardo Italia.[20] In 2014, it acquired Credit Suisse’s Italian private-banking unit; in 2017, it merged BG Fiduciaria and introduced the Banca Generali Private brand and network divisions.[20][21]
From 2018 to 2020, Banca Generali established the BG Saxo partnership, acquired Nextam Partners and Valeur Fiduciaria, and integrated Nextam Partners through mergers.[21] It incorporated BG (Suisse) in 2021, with BG (Suisse) Private Bank commencing banking activity in December 2024. In 2025, it acquired Intermonte SIM and Aequitum S.A.; Aequitum was subsequently merged into BG Valeur.[21] [20][21]
