Atmus Filtration Technologies Inc.

Updated

Overview

Atmus Filtration Technologies Inc. is a global filtration company serving on- and off-highway vehicles and equipment, as well as industrial markets. Its products include fuel, lube, air and hydraulic filtration, crankcase ventilation and related fluids, primarily under the Fleetguard brand; it also supplies air-filtration products for markets including HVAC, data centers, power generation and healthcare.[1] The company states its purpose as “creating a better future by protecting what is important.” [4]

Atmus reported $1.764 billion in net sales for 2025 and nearly 5,000 employees worldwide.[5][4] Its operations span six continents; as of December 2025, the company reported salesforce work locations in more than 25 countries and, including joint ventures, 20 manufacturing facilities.[6] The business traces its filtration heritage to 1958 and became fully independent from Cummins in March 2024.[7] [1]

Products & services

Atmus’s Fleetguard portfolio includes fuel, lube and air filters, crankcase-ventilation products, hydraulic filters, coolants and other chemicals; water filtration is also included in the reported offerings of its Fleetguard India joint venture. Products serve commercial on-highway vehicles and off-highway applications such as agriculture, construction, mining and power generation. The company also expanded into industrial and commercial air filtration, including HVAC, data-center and power-generation applications.[8]

Named filtration-media technologies include NanoNet® N3, NanoNet®, NanoNet®+ and StrataPore®. Atmus describes NanoNet N3 as a gradient mesh of microfibers and nanofibers in a polymeric web, designed to increase particle retention and contaminant-holding capacity, with potential to support smaller filters or longer service intervals; the cited material does not provide numerical efficiency or capacity specifications. Fleetguard examples include FF63013 fuel and FF2200 fuel filters, and LF14019NN lube filter.[11]

Products are sold through first-fit OEM and aftermarket replacement/repair channels; Atmus estimated these represented 14% and 86% of 2025 net sales, respectively. In 2025, reported net sales by product category were Fuel $797.6 million (about 45.2%), Lube $348.8 million (19.8%), Air $301.5 million (17.1%) and Other $316.4 million (17.9%); percentages are calculated from reported category sales and total net sales of $1,764.3 million.[10][16]

The company also provides warranty and technical-support channels for Fleetguard products. Its 2026 second-quarter filing reported year-to-date net sales of $924.6 million for Power Solutions and $80.8 million for Industrial Solutions, with Industrial Solutions shown as Air Filtration; these are six-month figures, not full-year results.[17] [8]

Geographic presence

In 2025, approximately 46% of Atmus Filtration Technologies’ net sales came from outside the United States and Canada; the company does not disclose a more detailed country or regional revenue breakdown.[6] Its salesforce had work locations in more than 25 countries, with a presence on six continents.[6]

At December 31, 2025, Atmus reported 11 distribution centers, 10 company-operated manufacturing facilities and five technical facilities. Joint ventures in China and India operated a further 10 manufacturing facilities and two technical facilities.[6] The company identifies employees in Mexico, Brazil and France, and a plant in Cookeville, Tennessee.[20] Its current company webpage describes 14 wholly owned and 10 joint-venture manufacturing sites across six continents.[4]

Named testing laboratory locations include Quimper, France; Pune, India; Wuhan, China; Cookeville, Tennessee; and Stoughton, Wisconsin.[21] The company has also identified a distribution center in Hutchins, Texas.[22] [6]

Business segments

Atmus Filtration Technologies Inc. reports one operating segment and one reportable segment; it does not disclose separate revenue contributions for multiple reportable segments. The company says its chief operating decision maker reviews performance and allocates resources on a consolidated basis.[23][24]

As a supplemental view of its sales mix—not a formal segment breakdown—Atmus estimated that in 2025 approximately 14% of net sales came from first-fit OEM sales and 86% from aftermarket sales. Its filtration products serve on-highway commercial vehicles and off-highway applications including agriculture, construction, mining, and power generation; product families include fuel, lube and air filters, crankcase ventilation, hydraulic filters, coolants, and other chemicals.[10][2] [23]

Company history

Atmus traces its origins to 1958, when Cummins Engine Company established a filter-production line in Seymour, Indiana, to supply its diesel engines. Cummins introduced the Fleetguard brand in 1963. The business expanded internationally over subsequent decades, including joint ventures in India in 1987 and China in 1994, and added facilities in China, Korea, and India between 2006 and 2016.[25]

In November 2022, Cummins announced Atmus Filtration Technologies as the name for its filtration business as it prepared to operate independently. Atmus began trading on the New York Stock Exchange in May 2023, although Cummins retained a majority stake following the IPO. Cummins completed the sale of its remaining shares on March 18, 2024, making Atmus fully independent.[26]

On January 7, 2026, Atmus completed its acquisition of Koch Filter, expanding its business into industrial and commercial air-filtration solutions.[3][31] [25]
