Overview
Arrow Electronics, Inc. is a global distributor of electronic components and a provider of enterprise computing solutions. It operates through two main businesses: Global Components, serving original equipment manufacturers and electronics manufacturing services providers, and Global ECS, providing enterprise computing solutions to value-added resellers and managed service providers. Its portfolio spans electronic components and computing technologies including datacenter, cloud, security, and analytics solutions.[1][2]
For FY2025, Arrow reported sales of $30.853 billion.[3] The company says it serves more than 85 countries, with over 140 sales facilities and 39 distribution and value-added centers; its 2026 fact sheet reports more than 22,000 employees worldwide.[1][4] Arrow describes its purpose as making technology’s benefits accessible in ways that make life better.[5] Founded in 1935 as a radio and parts retailer in Manhattan, it has since developed into a global technology distribution and solutions company.[6] [1][2][3][4][5][6][4][5][6]
Products & services
Arrow Electronics distributes semiconductors and interconnect, passive, and electromechanical (IP&E) components to original equipment manufacturers and electronic manufacturing services providers. Product categories include microcontrollers, microprocessors, application processors, systems-on-chip, development boards and kits, and memory products such as RAM/DRAM, flash cards, and modules.[7][8][9][10]
Its Enterprise Computing Solutions portfolio covers datacenter, cloud, security, and analytics products and solutions, including hybrid and multicloud offerings through the ArrowSphere platform, which supports vendor-product access, workflow management, consolidated billing, and analytics. Services across its businesses include supply-chain and logistics support, order management and shipment visibility, bill-of-materials risk analytics and sourcing alternatives; engineering and design, including hardware, embedded software, AI, prototyping and validation; and manufacturing support such as component programming, assembly, and testing. ECS also offers managed services, technical sales engineering, training, financing, support, and logistics.[7][11][12][13][14][15][16]
In 2025, Global Components accounted for approximately 70% of sales and Global ECS approximately 30%; semiconductor products and related services represented approximately 50% of consolidated sales. Arrow’s filings and catalog describe broad, multi-supplier portfolios rather than a single set of company-branded products with common technical specifications.[1][17] [7][1][17][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16]
Geographic presence
Arrow Electronics organizes its operations by geographic region and global business lines, reporting Global Components and Global ECS segments. It operates in more than 85 countries worldwide, and assigns sales to the location that maintains the customer relationship and completes the transaction.[18][19]
For FY2025, sales were $11.18 billion in the Americas (about 36.2% of total sales), $10.79 billion in EMEA (35.0%), and $8.89 billion in Asia/Pacific (28.8%). Components reported sales in all three regions; ECS reported sales in the Americas and EMEA.[20]
FY2025 sales by country were $10.55 billion in the United States, $4.42 billion in China and Hong Kong, and $3.16 billion in Germany; other countries accounted for $12.73 billion. Foreign sales totaled $20.30 billion, approximately 65.8% of company sales.[21]
Arrow lists its corporate headquarters in Centennial, Colorado, and reports more than 140 sales facilities and 39 distribution and value-added centers worldwide. Its April 2026 fact sheet also reports more than 22,000 employees and operations in 85+ countries, without an employee breakdown by geography.[22] [18][19][20][20][20][20][20][21][21][21][21][21][22][22]
Business segments
Arrow Electronics reports two business segments. Global Components markets and distributes electronic components, along with value-added capabilities and services, primarily to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and electronic manufacturing services (EMS) providers. Global ECS supplies enterprise-computing solutions and value-added services to value-added resellers (VARs) and managed service providers (MSPs), including datacenter, cloud, security, and analytics solutions for their end users.[1][2]
In FY2025, Global Components generated $21.501 billion, or approximately 69.7% of consolidated sales, and Global ECS generated $9.352 billion, or approximately 30.3%.[3] In the six months through July 4, 2026, their respective shares were approximately 71.9% and 28.0% of consolidated sales.[23] [1][2][3][3][3][23][23][23]
Company history
Arrow Electronics traces its origins to 1935, when Maurice (“Murray”) Goldberg opened Arrow Radio, a New York shop selling used radios and parts. The company was incorporated in 1946. Under new controlling investors from 1968, Arrow expanded through acquisitions and distribution agreements, including its 1979 purchase of Cramer Electronics, which extended its reach across the United States; it also began trading on the New York Stock Exchange that year. After a 1980 hotel fire killed 13 senior managers, John Waddell assumed leadership. Arrow merged with Schweber Electronics in 1991, further expanding its electronics distribution business.[6]
Arrow continued to grow through acquisitions, including Wyle’s components and systems divisions in 2000, and Converge, Nu Horizons Electronics and Richardson Electronics’ RF, Wireless and Power division in 2010–11. Later purchases broadened its business into public-sector IT distribution with immixGroup in 2015 and engineering and design services with eInfochips in 2018. In 2022, Sean J. Kerins succeeded Michael J. Long as president and CEO; William F. Austen became interim president and CEO in September 2025.[24][25][26][27][28][29][30] [6][24][25][26][27][28][29][30]
