Overview
Arcutis Biotherapeutics, Inc. is a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing treatments for dermatological diseases, particularly immune-mediated conditions with high unmet medical needs. Its stated aim is to use biological targets and dermatology expertise to address gaps in treatment innovation.[1]
The company’s defining marketed product is ZORYVE (roflumilast), a topical product franchise with formulations for plaque psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and seborrheic dermatitis. Arcutis has commercial operations in the United States and Canada, while licensing arrangements extend roflumilast commercialization to partners in Japan, Greater China, and Southeast Asia.[2][3][4][5][6]
Arcutis reported $235.3 million in net product revenue for the six months ended June 30, 2026. It had 354 full-time employees as of December 31, 2025. The company was formed in 2016 and adopted its current name in 2019.[7][8][9] [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]

The company is also developing ARQ-234, an investigational CD200-receptor agonist fusion protein for moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis. Development work includes a Phase 1a/1b study; the company has also reported a proposed infant atopic-dermatitis label expansion for ZORYVE cream 0.05%.[10]
For the six months ended June 30, 2026, reported net product revenue was $235.259 million: approximately 49.7% from ZORYVE foam, 28.9% from cream 0.3%, 19.5% from cream 0.15%, and 1.8% from cream 0.05% (percentages calculated from reported product revenue). The company reports product revenue; a separate services offering is not identified in the cited reporting.[11] [2][3][4][12][13][11][11][11][11][11][11][11][11][11][11][7][7][14][15][10]

The company’s principal executive office is in Westlake Village, California, and it was formed under Delaware law. Arcutis reported 354 full-time employees as of December 31, 2025; the cited disclosure does not provide their geographic distribution.[9][8]
The cited filings report revenue in aggregate rather than by country or region, so they do not provide geographic revenue percentages.[19] [16][16][16][16][17][18][9][8][19]
Business segments
Arcutis Biotherapeutics reports one operating and reportable segment, focused on developing and commercializing treatments for dermatological diseases. Management evaluates performance on a consolidated basis; the company does not report separate business segments by product or therapeutic area.[20][21]
Its commercial portfolio is ZORYVE (topical roflumilast), with formulations approved for plaque psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, and atopic dermatitis. The company also identifies ARQ-234, a CD200R fusion protein, as a development candidate for moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis.[22][23]
Because Arcutis reports one segment, percentages by product are only an approximate view of portfolio mix, not segment contributions. For the six months ended June 30, 2026, reported product revenue was approximately 49.7% ZORYVE foam, 28.9% ZORYVE cream 0.3%, 19.5% ZORYVE cream 0.15%, and 1.8% ZORYVE cream 0.05%, based on each formulation’s share of total product revenue.[24] [20][21][22][23][24][24][24][24][24]
Company history
Arcutis Biotherapeutics was founded in June 2016 as Arcutis, Inc., with Bhaskar Chaudhuri and Patrick Heron identified as co-founders; the company adopted its current name in October 2019.[9][25] It began trading on Nasdaq on January 31, 2020.[26][27] In 2022, the FDA approved ZORYVE cream for plaque psoriasis, and Arcutis launched it in the United States; that September, the company acquired Ducentis BioTherapeutics, adding the biologic candidate later called ARQ-234.[23][28][29]
From 2023 onward, ZORYVE’s approvals broadened to younger patients and additional dermatological conditions: the cream’s psoriasis indication expanded to children ages 6–11 in 2023, and a foam formulation was approved for seborrheic dermatitis that year.[30][23][31] In 2024, the FDA approved the cream for atopic dermatitis in adults and children ages 6 and older.[23][32][33] Further approvals followed in 2025 for foam use in plaque psoriasis and cream use in children ages 2–5 with atopic dermatitis.[23][32][34][35] In 2026, the company reported initiating a first-in-human study of ARQ-234 and receiving FDA approval to extend ZORYVE cream use for plaque psoriasis to children as young as 2.[36][37] [9][26][23][28][30][32][36][37][25][27][29][31][33][34][35]
