## Geographic presence

Marvell Technology’s geographic footprint spans North America, Asia, and parts of Europe. Its principal executive offices are in Wilmington, Delaware, and its significant facilities are located in the United States, India, Israel, Taiwan, Canada, Singapore, and China. The company identifies these sites primarily as research and design locations, with the United States also supporting sales, marketing, administration, and operations; Singapore supporting operations as well as research and design; and China supporting research and design plus sales and marketing. Marvell also leases smaller facilities in other international locations for administrative, sales, design, and field application personnel.[31](https://app.finbar.com/go?id=P-cfd35e00db7e46a4b6a78de29dd4ec33)[12](https://app.finbar.com/go?id=P-554edab394704765ae4b175f58fdbdab)[13](https://app.finbar.com/go?id=T-64d18136c6ff4b33b8f09fcf2f8d89fa)[32](https://app.finbar.com/go?id=P-81838a26481b4f9083734c7247b267d4)

For fiscal 2025, Marvell reported net revenue by destination of shipment of 43% from China, 17% from the United States, 10% from Taiwan, 8% from Singapore, 5% from Thailand, 3% from Japan, 2% from Malaysia, 2% from Finland, and 10% from other locations. The company notes that shipment destination is not necessarily the same as end-customer geography, because products shipped to one country may ultimately be sold to customers based elsewhere.[33](https://app.finbar.com/go?id=P-252091bc8c074c58997b044594909c0a)[34](https://app.finbar.com/go?id=T-052de2aaee2c4c69896190b1e965fe04)[35](https://app.finbar.com/go?id=P-a7272043b9d947bf93392afa48f32b5a)

Marvell’s property and equipment base is also geographically split between the United States and international locations. At February 1, 2025, property and equipment, net, totaled $790.5 million, of which $398.6 million was in the United States, $321.0 million was in Singapore, and $70.9 million was in other locations. Separately, Marvell’s public office directory indicates a broader office presence across countries including the United States, Canada, China, Denmark, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam.[36](https://app.finbar.com/go?id=P-2f71757f40574534b5b114c80dab1b36)[37](https://app.finbar.com/go?id=T-73405d227ad44fa1a9f804d9fec870db)[38](https://jp.marvell.com/company/offices.html)

## Business segments

Marvell Technology officially reports a single reportable segment: the design, development and sale of integrated circuits. Its chief executive officer is identified as the chief operating decision maker and evaluates performance on a consolidated basis using consolidated net income (loss), so the company does not present multiple operating segments in its formal segment note. This means the officially reported segment mix is effectively 100% one segment. [39](https://app.finbar.com/go?id=P-84a81538c6eb41c59239ed7fd3cdac15)[40](https://app.finbar.com/go?id=P-2929b7ad023b4dfb8d3f5377266e316c)

For additional business mix disclosure, Marvell disaggregates revenue by end market rather than by reportable segment. In FY2025, data center was about 72% of net revenue and covered cloud and on-premise AI systems, Ethernet switching, network-attached storage, AI and general-purpose servers, storage area networks/systems, and data center interconnect. Enterprise networking was about 11% and included campus and small/medium enterprise routers, Ethernet switches, wireless access points, network appliances, and workstations. Carrier infrastructure was about 6% and included broadband access systems, Ethernet switches, optical transport systems, routers, and wireless RAN systems. Consumer was about 5% and included broadband gateways and routers, gaming consoles, home data storage, home wireless access points, PCs, printers, and set-top boxes. Automotive/industrial was about 6% and included ADAS, autonomous vehicles, in-vehicle networking, industrial Ethernet switches, U.S. military and government solutions, and video surveillance. ## Company history

Marvell Technology was founded in 1995 by Sehat Sutardja, Weili Dai, and Pantas Sutardja.[43](https://www.marvell.com/company/newsroom/marvell-founders-make-cornerstone-gift-to-university-of-californias-citris-initiative.html) In April 2016, the company announced a senior leadership transition in which Sehat Sutardja and Weili Dai left their management roles, and in July 2016 Matthew J. Murphy became president and chief executive officer.[44](https://www.marvell.com/company/newsroom/marvell-technology-group-ltd-announces-senior-leadership-transition.html)[45](https://www.marvell.com/company/newsroom/marvell-technology-group-ltd-announces-appointment-of-matthew-j-murphy-as-president-and-chief-executive-officer.html)

From 2018 through 2021, Marvell reshaped its business through a series of acquisitions. It completed the acquisition of Cavium in July 2018, Aquantia in September 2019, and Avera Semiconductor in November 2019; Marvell later described Avera as GlobalFoundries’ ASIC business, acquired to expand Marvell’s ASIC design capabilities.[46](https://www.marvell.com/company/newsroom/marvell-technology-completes-acquisition-of-cavium.html)[47](https://investor.marvell.com/news-events/press-releases/detail/352/marvell-completes-acquisition-of-aquantia)[48](https://investor.marvell.com/news-events/press-releases/detail/347/marvell-completes-acquisition-of-avera-semi)[49](https://app.finbar.com/go?id=P-8f865a469cb441dda0ac4e781e7a41db) In April 2021, Marvell completed its acquisition of Inphi, which it said positioned the combined company for high-speed data movement in cloud data centers and 5G networks, and shareholders had approved reorganizing the combined company into Delaware.[50](https://www.marvell.com/company/newsroom/marvell-completes-acquisition-of-inphi.html)[51](https://app.finbar.com/go?id=P-837a29d886d145afa33183623b6e43d8)[52](https://investor.marvell.com/news-events/press-releases/detail/284/shareholders-approve-the-proposed-acquisition-of-inphi-corporation-shareholders-approve-marvells-reorganization-of-the-combined-company-into-delaware)
