      "text": "Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) traces its roots to Hewlett-Packard, founded by Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard in Palo Alto in 1939. Hewlett-Packard merged with Compaq in 2002 and acquired Aruba Networks in 2015, shortly before separating into two companies. HPE became independent on November 1, 2015, taking the enterprise-technology business, while HP Inc. retained the personal-computing and printing businesses. Meg Whitman was HPE’s first chief executive.
