      "text": "Hermès began in 1837, when the harness-maker Thierry Hermès opened a workshop in Paris. The house gained early recognition with an award at the 1867 Paris Universal Exhibition, and in 1880 Charles-Émile Hermès moved the workshops and store to 24 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, which became the company’s historic base.[P-cb3fa6bb05dc41c186966d14e716680f][P-0eaec684e8344f3cadf5b0e0b173a0d0][P-a0bc3e78aa564952a98f7505ea16c476]\n\nIn the early 20th century, Hermès broadened beyond saddlery under Émile Hermès: in 1922 it secured rights to develop the zip in France, and it also introduced its first ready-to-wear garment.
