      "text": "DiDi traces its origins to 2012, when Will Wei Cheng founded the company and launched the DiDi Dache taxi-hailing app shortly afterward. Jean Qing Liu joined in 2014 and is identified by the company as a co-founder. In February 2015, DiDi merged with rival Kuaidi; in August 2016, it acquired Uber China.
